Common custom fabrication requests.

The custom work that crosses our engineering desk falls into a few recurring families. Custom-diameter silicone plugs and caps top the list — a hole size that standard ranges skip, a non-standard thread, a flange that must clear a fixture. Molding to the exact dimension removes the daily improvisation of stretching or stacking standard parts.

Die-cut programs come next: shapes, dots and rings cut to a drawing so line operators place one part instead of cutting tape. Printed and color-coded tapes follow — size identification, process routing, brand marking. And increasingly, complete masking kits: every mask one part number needs, counted and bagged per assembly, so coverage stops depending on who is on shift.

Your drawings stay your drawings.

We sign NDAs on request. Drawings and samples are used only for quotation and production, are never shared with third parties, and are deleted on request after the project closes.

Custom fabrication questions.

What is the minimum order for a custom molded part?

It depends on the tooling: simple plug and cap molds justify smaller runs than complex geometries. Send the drawing and target quantity and we will quote both tooling and per-part price transparently.

How long does custom tooling take?

Simple compression molds are typically ready in 2–3 weeks; die-cut tooling is usually faster. Slitting custom tape widths needs no tooling at all.

Can you reverse-engineer from a worn sample?

Yes — a sample part or clear photos with a few key measurements are enough to start. We confirm the reconstructed drawing with you before cutting any tool.

Do I own the tooling I pay for?

Tooling paid by the customer is reserved exclusively for that customer's orders. We document and store it; ask for the tooling terms with your quote.

Can you mix custom and standard parts in one kit?

That is the most common kit structure: standard plugs and tape plus one or two custom die-cuts, bagged per assembly and labeled with your part number.
