How to specifyPolyester & PET Masking Tapes.

What is PET masking tape used for?

PET (polyester) masking tape is the standard choice for powder coating, e-coating and general high-temperature masking where a sharp paint line and clean removal matter more than reusability.

What temperature can PET tape withstand?

Typical PET masking tapes are rated up to around 204°C, which covers most standard powder coating cure cycles. For higher temperatures, a polyimide tape is the better choice.

How do I choose the right width?

Narrow widths suit fine-line masking and small features; wider rolls are more efficient for covering flat panels or large openings. Many buyers stock two or three widths to cover most jobs.
