Masking caps cover bolts, studs, electrical contacts and other protruding features that must stay free of coating, plating or paint. They install by hand and are removed after the process without tools.

Silicone caps generally offer higher temperature resistance and are the default choice for powder coating ovens. EPDM rubber caps are a cost-effective option for lower-temperature painting or plating lines where extreme heat resistance is not required.

How do I size a masking cap correctly?

Match the cap's internal diameter to the thread or feature diameter, allowing for a light interference fit that holds the cap in place without excessive stretching that could cause it to split over repeated use.
