Thermal and flame spray processes involve molten or semi-molten particle streams at temperatures well beyond powder coating or e-coating ovens. Standard polyimide or PET tape isn't built for this - aluminum foil-backed tape is specifically designed to handle thermal spray heat and particle impact.

Aerospace component coating, turbine part refurbishment, and heavy industrial thermal spray applications are the primary users of this specialty tape category.

Can this tape be used for regular powder coating?

It can, but it's typically reserved for thermal/flame spray work given its higher cost relative to standard PET or polyimide tape - for standard powder coating, our polyester or polyimide tapes are the more cost-effective choice.
