This polyimide (Kapton-type) masking tape is built for the highest routine masking temperatures on this site - well above what standard PET or paper tape can survive without degrading. It is rated for high-temperature processes including reflow and wave soldering exposure with the silicone adhesive holding its bond throughout.
Polyimide tape is the standard choice for PCB and electronics masking during soldering, and for powder coating features that see temperatures beyond PET tape's range. Its thin, amber-toned film also resists most solvents used in board cleaning steps.
Available in standard widths on rolls, or die-cut to a specific pad or connector shape for repeat-production boards. Because polyimide tape costs more per meter than PET or paper tape, it's typically specified only where the temperature or chemical exposure genuinely requires it.
