How it is made & specified.
This silicone masking plug seals a threaded hole or bore during coating, so no powder, paint or plating solution reaches the feature underneath. It handles standard bake and cure cycle temperatures, and the silicone body flexes back to its original shape after repeated pulls, so a single plug typically survives many production cycles rather than being a single-use consumable.
Choose this plug size and rating when the feature to protect is a round hole, tapped bore or blind hole rather than a flat surface - flat areas are better served by tape or die-cut shapes. Confirm hole diameter and depth before ordering: an undersized plug will not seal fully under coating pressure, while an oversized plug can distort the hole edge on removal.
Silicone plugs ship in bulk packaging by default and can be kitted with matching caps or tape for a specific part number on request. Because the plug is reusable, total cost per masked part is usually lower than single-use tape for high-cycle production, even though the unit price is higher than tape per piece.
